One more day of fabulous Southern Oregon sun for us locals. Stand up, where ever you may happen to be at 4:30pm today and yell "TGIF"! Then without a moments hesitation, run out of the nearest door and start driving to Joe & Suzi's. When you get there, look out over the Applegate Valley & take in a deep breath...wine is close to hand. Take the night off!

It's the first of May and one of the things that I love most about living in Southern Oregon is that we celebrate every season. One of the newest and most unique events to join the region's annual calendar is MaiFest held at the historic Bigham Knoll Campus located in Jacksonville.
So I invite you to ask yourself, "What do I have planned for me and my loved ones today"? If your answer is anything short of something totally non-negotiable & pre-committed, I suggest you load the car up with whomever you'd like to spend a sunny day with and head to Jacksonville. The celebration of renewed life and the promise of spring, Maifest dates back thousands of years. Join Frau Kemmling as their staff recreates a Jacksonville pioneer tradition. Maypole dances, special spring brews, flowers, family fun and live music by the "Sauerkrauts", ring in the spring and the sunny weather. This event will be celebrated annually on the first Sunday of May. For more information, please visit their website or call the restaurant at (541) 899-1000. |
